SPANISH NATIONAL CANCER RESEARCH CENTER (CNIO)
Since 2016, Juegaterapia has an agreement in place with the CNIO (Spanish National Cancer Research Center) for the annual granting of the “Juegaterapia Research”grant.
This grant is part of the program “Friends of the CNIO” and it amounts to €100,000, collected through the sale of our Baby Pelones, the not-for-profit dolls we’ve created as a tribute to children stricken by cancer and which have become a real symbol.
Thus, we want to give back to society all the love and support we receive daily, offering an opportunity to a team of young doctors who are working on the development of projects of excellence that are enabling further advances in the fight against childhood cancers.
The Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO) was created in 1998 by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III. At the beginning, it was under the Ministry of Health and Consumption, but since the end of 2011 it is part of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
It is managed by the Spanish National Cancer Research Center Foundation Carlos III, governed by a Board and managed and advised by a Scientific Advisory Committee.
The CNIO’s main mission is to carry out research of excellence and to offer innovative technology in the cancer field to the National Health System and to the National System of Science and Innovation. We hope to be able to help them in this endeavor now and in the future.
